Do you remember being able to do simple tasks? Do you ever have to cancel plans because the task sounds daunting? When adults start to feel the effects of getting older, doing normal tasks becomes a chore and they can lose hope.
There is good news, though! We CAN do things to make our lives more comfortable as we age. If you take the time to learn healthy habits for your body, you’ll gain your life back, and have fun doing it. I want you to feel empowered and take on the responsibility of caring for your body.
We have a philosophy at Practical Nutrition & Fitness: “You can’t say FUN-damentals without fun!” Throughout our training, you will find exercises that take away soreness and stiffness and give back flexibility and strength.
I’ll be honest with you; this training isn’t for everyone. To get yourself healthy means making your body and health a priority. The road to success is paved with frustration. But with faith, commitment, and hard work... you’ll see amazing changes!
We’ve learned that almost every joint problem comes from a series of muscles called “The Slings.” These muscles interact with your entire body, from your neck to your knees. When these slings are working properly the body moves efficiently, often resulting in reduced injuries and pain free movement. In contrast, when something is out of sync unnecessary friction will occur resulting in some sort of pain. Most people believe you need to get surgery, prescriptions, or braces to get your life back. But I don't think that's the answer, at least not for everyone.
“When the force vectors are balanced, they provide optimal alignment of the bones and joints throughout dynamic movement. In contrast, imbalanced force vectors resulting from altered tension in the myofascial slings, can create malalignment and potentially contribute to loss of stability during static or dynamic tasks.” (Lee, D; Vleeming, A; Jones, M.) This loss of stability and alignment is the number one cause of pain for most people.
One of our clients, Gordon, struggled with pain in his back and joints from “swayback” posture. He couldn’t function in daily life. He was hunched over and couldn’t lift anything without pain. Gordon couldn’t even enjoy his favorite pastime of feeding the birds!
But after training with me Gordon can STAND UPRIGHT WITHOUT PAIN! Take a look at his story.
Gordon Gets Back The Lifestyle He Always Wanted, Lifting 15-Pound Bags With Ease
Gordon can now carry-on tasks like shoveling snow and gardening without tiring … at 80 YEARS OLD! His stability is fully restored! Through using easy exercises to realign his body, he’s bypassed the usual tightness and corrected his posture.
People often give up favorite activities when their neck and joints start acting up... But Gordon’s thirst for life keeps going! He’s even able to do things he couldn’t when he was younger.
Do you want to live to the fullest, even as you age? You can, through this simple method. Let me show you how it works.
Getting Back to the Core
When people experience “swayback” posture they often turn to braces, yoga, and physical trainers in hope of recovering. The problem is their muscles are NOT SUPPORTING each other.
Poor posture built over a lifetime doesn’t go away by taking pills and exercises. Many clients come to us frustrated because they’ve lost hope that things can get better.
The solution is to CHANGE the way you move. My clients relearn basic movements to bring balance, strength, and stability to live WITHOUT PAIN... instead of trying to tough it out.
The Simple Steps
Gordon’s shoulder and knee would become sore and uncomfortable each day. His abdomen would get SO tight that he couldn’t stretch his arms out without pain.
When I started working with Gordon, I took him through our 3-step process: Stability, Endurance, and Power. For 14 weeks, I showed him how to move the right way, strengthen his body through the exercises, and helped him regain his explosive power.
All this led to Gordon changing his posture, regaining his strength, and taking back his life. Today, he happily feeds the birds with ZERO PAIN.
Let me show you one of our warm-up exercises for strengthening your abdomen and joints: The Bird Dog.
1. Find a soft surface, like a yoga pad or cushioned carpet, and get on your hands and knees. MAKE SURE to keep your knees and hands STRAIGHT under your hips and shoulders.

2. Lift your left arm and right leg until it’s parallel with your back. FOCUS on forming a straight line from your hand and foot, keeping your hips squared. EXHALE when reaching out your arms and legs and INHALE when you bring your limbs back in. Alternate between your arms and legs to get a balanced workout for your abdomen.
Make sure you only use your shoulder and glutes when lifting your arms and legs (Left arm, squeeze left shoulder, right leg, right glute).

This is one of MANY exercises to improve your health and change your life.
Why Can’t This Be You?
So … what about YOU? Does Gordon’s story sound anything like yours? Just like how Gordon got his life back, aren’t you WORTH receiving the same freedom and joy?
You have the power to do this, too. Would you like to go on family trips and play with the grandkids?
If so, let’s get started. Just for you, I’m opening up all my knowledge on practical, a no-nonsense method to enjoying your life without pain as you age.
